Bio and Favorite Things

Kristy Hill

This is my first year at Abiding Hope Preschool. I have been teaching on and off for the last 20 years. I took a break to stay at home with my 3 children who are now adults. I have taught every grade from preschool through high school, and I have even taught college students for a couple of years in China. Last year I was teaching Special Education for Denver Public Schools. I am always led back to preschool because that is where I feel most natural teaching. I love teaching kindness and compassion. I love watching a young child unfold and develop their own personality and interests. I especially love 2-year-olds because they are finding their independence and there are so many things that they are learning to do on their own. They also have a natural love of learning. I believe that children thrive and learn best in a safe and loving environment, and I enjoy creating that environment.  I hope that each child in my class feels loved and accepted. I think this comes from my Special Education background.

I am a Colorado Native and grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. I graduated in 1985 from Green Mountain High School. I lived in Fort Collins, Colorado from 1997 to 2018 and recently I have moved back to this area to be closer to my parents.
